Physics of Gene Regulations
Protein concentrations in a living cell are regulated through production and degradation. Production, in turn, can be regulated at either the transcriptional or the translational stage. Transcriptional regulation can involve protein binding to operators, DNA looping and sometimes also antagonistic RNA polymerases moving along the DNA and interfering with the activity of a given promoter.
In the center we develop physical models of case studies from biology where each of these regulations occur.
